Prior to studying and practicing Oriental Medicine, Karen worked in government and nonprofit in Washington, DC and San Diego.  After hearing an acupuncturist speak about acupuncture and Chinese herbs, she became intrigued with Oriental Medicine.  Shortly after hearing the speech, she became a patient. Karen's interest in this ancient healing modality was further deepened which prompted her to study the medicine. Complimentary medicine, self-improvement and longevity have been life-long interests and now she is able to turn a passion into a career.  Karen lives in San Diego with her husband Janis and their two kitties, Laima and Lucy.  They enjoy international travel, scuba diving and ethnic dining.
